14 Days Kenya & Tanzania Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi – Lake Naivasha Crescent Island
Early morning drive to Lake Naivasha Crescent Island for an approximate of 1 hour. Upon arrival you will embark on a mid morning boat ride and guided walk at the Crescent Island. Lake Naivasha is a freshwater lake found in the great rift valley of Kenya. It has a dense population of animals such as hippos and several species of birds. Crescent Island is home to a number of bird species, which include the fish eagle, herons, crakes, cranes and more. The Island is also home to a number of wildlife that includes zebras, giraffes, waterbucks, Impalas, Kongoni among other animals.

Day 2: Lake Naivasha – Lake Nakuru National Park
Rise up for an early breakfast and later on embark on your journey to Lake Nakuru National Park arriving in time for lunch followed by an afternoon game drive. Lake Nakuru National Park is a standpoint and harbor for watching more than 400 species of birds in rift valley. As you visit the lake, game animals are in large numbers. Hippos, buffalos and many species of birds are unstoppable. Flamingos are prominently notable just like in Lake Naivasha. Nakuru National Park is home to few remaining Rhinos in Kenya. The Park also offers great sightseeing of larger predators like the lions and Leopards.

Day 3: Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara National Reserve
Depart Lake Nakuru National Park for Masai Mara National Reserve after breakfast. For approximately 5 hours you will be skirting around Mau and Narok town arriving in Masai Mara in time for lunch. After lunch check in to your rooms there after head out for an afternoon game drive.

Day 4: Full Day in Masai Mara National Reserve
You’ll have an early morning breakfast then proceed to the park for a full day game drive with packed lunch in search of wildlife. Masai Mara National Reserve is famous for The Big Five animals (Elephant, Lion, Leopard, Rhinos and Buffalo). What amazes travelers in this reserve is the annual migration of wildebeests. The animals shift on July and return on November and is among the seventh wonder of the world. The park has the largest concentration of African lions, including the black-maned lion. Bird life is in plenty as wildlife at the Mara, which boasts over 400 different bird species.

Day 5: Masai Mara – Serengeti National Park
Start with an early morning game drive after breakfast while driving out of Masai Mara National Reserve for Serengeti National Park. This drive will take you through Isebania cross country border closing point. After border formalities, drive to the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. It will be a long day of driving but the game drives in and out of the parks will be worthwhile.

Day 6: Full Day in Serengeti National Park
Full day game drive with packed lunch in Serengeti National Park. Serengeti is wider and highly known for its massive annual migration of the Wildebeest and Zebras. The animals move from their breeding ground from North to South through the Grumeti River. Serengeti National Park is inhabited by more than a million wildebeest, hundreds of thousands of plains zebras, and Thomsons gazelles. Large predators including lions, cheetahs, and hyenas are also found in the park along with nearly 500 species of birds.

Day 7: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Early morning breakfast with sunrise breakfast as you drive towards Ngorongoro Conservation Area with parked lunch. You will make an optional stopover at Olduvai Gorge Museum where the remains on mankind were found. Arrive in Ngorongoro in the afternoon followed with a game drive around the conservation area. With walls 2,000 ft high and a crater floor spreading 102 sq. miles, the crater is a virtual Noahs Ark. Almost every species of wildlife indigenous to East Africa including the rare black rhino are found in this area. In fact, the crater has the greatest concentration of wild life in the planet. It contains a river, several swamps, a soda lake that, from the top, looks like steam, full of flamingos, a forest and open plains. The large bull elephants that reside here have extremely large tusk, due to the rich mineral content of the volcanic soil.

Day 8: Ngorongoro – Lake Eyasi & a Visit to the Hadzabe
After breakfast you will set out for Lake Eyasi with packed lunch and a few essentials. This day will be dedicated to cultural activities around Lake Eyasi. You will have the opportunity to interact with local Hadzabe community, and learn about their unique way of life. This cultural immersion will provide insights into their hunting and gathering techniques, traditional dances, and customs. The Hadzabe live in caves and they don’t wear any kind of clothes but rather skin to cover the private parts. Their community is endangered, because most of their land has been taken away from them for commercial production.

Day 9: Lake Eyasi – Lake Manyara National Park
Depart Lake Eyasi for Lake Manyara National Park. You will arrive in time for lunch followed with an afternoon game drive. Lake Manyara is widely known as the home of flamingos and the tree climbing Lions. You will find this lake to be unique as it’s supplied by water by underground springs and its wildlife is very easy to spot. The game drives are done along the shore of the lake, providing incredible views of giraffes and buffalos against the backdrop of the lake. You’ll have great photo opportunities and you can also do a walking and night safari.

Day 10: Lake Manyara – Tarangire National Park
Depart Lake Manyara for Tarangire National Park arriving in time for lunch followed an afternoon game drive. Tarangire National Park is well known for its big groups of elephants and the huge amount of giant baobab trees. These trees can live for hundreds of years and are actually a source of water for elephants in the dry season. The Park is home to Lion, Leopard, Elephant, buffalo, Python, Zebra, Oryx, Impala, and more animals. Over 450 species of birds have been recorded in the park as well.

Day 11: Tarangire – Arusha
Depart Tarangire for Arusha after breakfast arriving mid-morning and proceed to your hotel. You can decide to rest on this day or with the help of tour guide explore Arusha city. Arusha is Tanzania’s safari capital nestled in the shadow of Mount Meru with commanding views of the mighty Mount Kilimanjaro. Although Dar es Salaam is larger, Arusha is visited more by tourists as it’s the gateway to major tourist destinations. The closer park to this City is Arusha National Park.

Day 12: Arusha – Amboseli National Park
Depart Arusha for Amboseli National Park in the morning through Namanga Border with packed lunch. After border formalities you will drive through the vast plains and African savannah with sightings of Masai homesteads. You will arrive in Amboseli in the afternoon and embark on an afternoon game drive while driving towards your lodge. Against the magnificent backdrop of Mt. Kilimanjaro roams vast herds of elephants accompanied by a mixture of other animals.

Day 13: Full Day in Amboseli National Park
Rise up early for breakfast and embark on a full day game drive with parked lunch as you enjoy good views of Mount Kilimanjaro before clouds build up over the summit. Despite its changing habitat, Amboseli National Park is possibly the best wildlife area in the whole of Africa to experience elephant at close range. Our game drives will take you to the observation hill to have a better overall view of the park including the adjacent marshy swamps. Wildlife is abundant in this park together with pelicans and other bird species. Your game viewing will be spread to cover the open plains, acacia woodland, rocky thorn bush country, swamps and marshland.
