9 Days Best of Kenya Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi – Masai Mara National Reserve
Depart Nairobi for Masai Mara National Reserve in the morning. For approximately 5-6 hours you will be skirting around Mount Suswa and Narok town. First highlight of the journey is the glimpse of East Africa’s Great Rift Valley. Covering approximately 7000kms, the valley runs from Lebanon in Asia to Mozambique in South East Asia. You will arrive at your camp in time for lunch followed by an afternoon game drive to explore the Masai Mara.

Day 2: Full Day in Masai Mara National Reserve
You’ll have an early morning breakfast then proceed to the park for a full day game drive with packed lunch in search of wildlife. Masai Mara National Reserve is famous for The Big Five animals (Elephant, Lion, Leopard, Rhinos and Buffalo). What amazes travelers in this reserve is the annual migration of wildebeests. The animals shift on July and return on November and is among the seventh wonder of the world. The park has the largest concentration of African lions, including the black-maned lion. Bird life is in plenty as wildlife at the Mara, which boasts over 400 different bird species.

Day 3: Masai Mara – Lake Nakuru National Park
Rise up for an early breakfast and later on embark on your journey to Lake Nakuru National Park arriving in time for lunch followed by an afternoon game drive. Lake Nakuru National Park is a standpoint and harbor for watching more than 400 species of birds in rift valley. As you visit the lake, game animals are in large numbers. Hippos, buffalos and many species of birds are unstoppable. Flamingos are prominently notable just like in Lake Naivasha. Nakuru National Park is home to few remaining Rhinos in Kenya. The Park also offers great sightseeing of larger predators like the lions and Leopards.

Day 4: Lake Nakuru – Lake Naivasha Crescent Island
After breakfast drive to Lake Naivasha Crescent Island for an approximate of 1 hour. Upon arrival you will embark on a mid morning boat ride and guided walk at the Crescent Island. Lake Naivasha is a freshwater lake found in the great rift valley of Kenya. It has a dense population of animals such as hippos and several species of birds. Crescent Island is home to a number of bird species, which include the fish eagle, herons, crakes, cranes and more. The Island is also home to a number of wildlife that includes zebras, giraffes, waterbucks, Impalas, Kongoni among other animals.

Day 5: Lake Naivasha – Amboseli National Park
Depart Lake Naivasha for Amboseli National Park in the morning. The drive will take you through the vast plains and African savannah with sightings of Masai homesteads. You will arrive at your lodge in time for lunch followed by an afternoon game drive with a perfect view of Africa’s highest mountain, Mt Kilimanjaro. Against this magnificent backdrop roams vast herds of elephants accompanied by a mixture of other fabulous beasts like lion, buffalos, cheetahs and giraffes to name but a few.

Day 6: Full Day in Amboseli National Park
Rise up early for breakfast and embark on a full day game drive with parked lunch as you enjoy good views of Mount Kilimanjaro before clouds build up over the summit. Despite its changing habitat, Amboseli National Park is possibly the best wildlife area in the whole of Africa to experience elephant at close range. Our game drives will take you to the observation hill to have a better overall view of the park including the adjacent marshy swamps. Wildlife is abundant in this park together with pelicans and other bird species. Your game viewing will be spread to cover the open plains, acacia woodland, rocky thorn bush country, swamps and marshland.

Day 7: Amboseli – Tsavo West National Park
After breakfast, drive to Tsavo West National Park arriving in time for lunch followed with an afternoon game drive. Tsavo West is the most visited section in Tsavo National Park, offering many attractions apart from its wildlife. The foremost is the famous Mzima Springs where up to 227.3 million liters of cool crystal-clear water flows out of the ground through porous volcanic rocks. The water is believed to originate from Chuyulu Hills, via an underground river.

Day 8: Tsavo West – Tsavo East National Park
Morning game drive as you head towards Tsavo East National Park with a visit to the the Rhino sanctuary. You will arrive at your lodge in time for lunch followed with an afternoon game drive. Large heard of red-skinned elephants and Man-eaters (lions) of Tsavo define this ark. One of the Park’s most recognizable features is the Yatta Plateau, which is the longest lava flow in the World. The Park is home to a good population of Giraffe, Zebra, Impala Gazelles, and Buffalo. Large prides of Lions, Leopards and Cheetah represent predators in the park.

Day 9: Tsavo East – Nairobi
After breakfast depart for Nairobi arriving later in the afternoon. Depending on your flight details, you can organize with your guide for a Nairobi City Tour there after a transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your home bound flight.
